Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship Program
I was accepted into this program at Brown University and participated from 2002-2004. I conducted research on Brown University's involvement with the Civil Rights Movement and its institutional exchange program with Tougaloo College.-
The results of this research became the basis for the Freedom Now Brown-Tougaloo Archival Project, in which I wrote two essays on: The Brown-Tougaloo Cooperative Exchange and White Resistance in the Civil Rights Movement.

This project was also the inspiration for my Sociology Honors Senior Thesis entitled "Black Women in the Civil Rights' Movement: 1960-1970" and was recently referenced in The Washington Post piece "Honor the Dream by Honoring the Women of the Movement" (Aug 27, 2013).
